Andrea Bentley from Augusta, Ga., Joins No. 3-ranked Brenau Golden Tigers Softball Squad

Andrea Bentley from Augusta, Ga., joined the nationally No. 3-ranked Brenau University Golden Tigers softball team for the 2013 season. She is the daughter of Robert Bentley and Cathy Wilder.

While Bentley played for the Westside High School Patriots in Augusta, she was recognized as Georgia Southern showcase most valuable player 2011, athlete of the week in 2011, and an Augusta Chronicle's player of the week2011.

"I love that I can relax and focus on school and softball due to the fact that Brenau Women's College offers a single-gender environment," the freshman nursing major said."Most important, I can pursue my dreams of being a registered nurse while also playing the sport that I love."

The Tigers finished the 2012 campaign ranked No. 4 in the nation following a narrow loss in the National Intercollegiate Athletics Association national tournament semifinals. The team picked up a No. 3 ranking in the NAIA pre-season coaches' poll.
