Rashidah N. Richard from Atlanta, Ga., Shows Work During Performance in Historic Brenau University Venue

2012 Nov 9

Rashidah N. Richard from Atlanta, Ga., played a significant role in the Nov. 2-3 performances for "An Evening of Dance" at historic Pearce Auditorium on the campus of Brenau University.

Richard danced in two numbers choreographed for "An Evening of Dance." The Brenau junior is a dance studies major. Richard is the daughter of E. Tyree Thornton of New York. She is a graduate of Tri-Cities High School in East Point.

The program featured dance numbers that were choreographed by both students and professional dance choreographers. The program, one of several dance performances on the campus each year, showcases in a professional venue the individual and group performances and creative work by talented students enrolled in Brenau's undergraduate performing arts program. The 750-seat Pearce Auditorium, which evokes an image of a Victorian-era opera house, is a registered U.S. historical building.
