Yuxi Liu from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, The People's Republic of China, Performs in Brenau University Concert

Yuxi Liu from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, The People's Republic of China, appeared on stage in Brenau University's historic Pearce Auditorium Oct. 15 during the fall Il Portale Musicale program. Liu, a pianist, performed Liebestraum (Listz) in the "Il Portale Musicale" Concert.

Liu is a junior majoring in piano performance at Brenau. She is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon professional music fraternity and Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society. Liu is the daughter of Ms. Li and Mr. Liu of Zhengzhou, Henan, China. She graduated from Zhengzhou University, China in 2010 and got her bachelor's degree in Chinese literature.

The concert series takes its name from Brenau University's "Four Portals of Learning" liberal arts curriculum that stresses expanded world view, scientific and social curiosity, appreciation for the arts and communications. Il Portale Musicale showcases individual performances in a concert setting by talented students enrolled in Brenau's undergraduate music and performing arts programs. The 750-seat Pearce Auditorium, which evokes an image of a Victorian-era opera house, is a registered U.S. historical building.
